Eyeliner embroidery in Singapore is the quietest of the three semi-permanent makeup services, and the most misunderstood. Clients arrive with a saved photo of a sharp black flick and assume that is the treatment. It is not. What goes into the skin at yeux is a fine line of pigment along the lash base, so lashes read denser and the eye reads more open. Nobody across a table can point at it and say you are wearing eyeliner. What eyeliner embroidery actually is
绣眼线到底是什么
Strip the marketing off and it is simple. Cosmetic pigment is deposited into the upper layers of skin along the base of the upper lashes, filling the small gaps between the lash roots. Placed properly, it does not read as a line at all. It reads as a lash line that happens to be fuller than yours.
把宣传词拿掉，其实很简单：把美容色素放进上睫毛根部那一层皮肤里，填掉睫毛根之间的小空隙。放得对的话，它根本不像一条线，它看起来就是「这个人睫毛比较密」。
Singapore has several names for the same family of work: eyeliner embroidery, semi-permanent eyeliner, eyeliner tattoo, 绣眼线, 美瞳线. What separates them is not the signboard, it is where the pigment sits. A line along the outside of the lash base is the gentlest version. One that runs into the inner lash line is heavier and more visible.
同一类工作，新加坡有好几个叫法：绣眼线、纹眼线、美瞳线、semi-permanent eyeliner、eyeliner tattoo。差别不在招牌上写什么，在色素放在哪里。沿着睫毛根外侧走是最轻的一种；走进内眼线，就重得多、也明显得多。
Like brow and lip work, this is a cosmetic tattoo. The pigment sits shallower than a body tattoo and is designed to fade, which is what makes it semi-permanent rather than permanent. It is also placed a few millimetres from your eye, which is why the rest of this article spends more time on caution than on results.
跟眉和唇一样，这是一种美容纹刺。色素比身体纹身放得浅，本来就设计成会慢慢退，所以叫半永久。它也确实是在离眼球几毫米的地方做的，所以这篇接下来讲注意事项的篇幅，会比讲效果多。
What it is not, and this is the honest part

Our menu says it plainly. There are two eyeliner options at yeux, Line Along Lash Line Enhancement at $290 and Line Including Inner Lash Line Enhancement at $390, and both of them are lash line work. Neither is a wing. We do not tattoo a winged tail, a thick graphic line, or a lifted flick, and we will say so on WhatsApp before you make the trip.
我们菜单上写得很清楚。yeux 的眼线有两个选项：眼线 $290 和 美瞳线 $390，两个做的都是睫毛根那条线，都不是眼尾。我们不纹上扬的眼尾、不纹加粗的图形眼线、不纹拉长的飞机线，这些在你出门之前，我们就会在 WhatsApp 上先说清楚。
The reason is not skill, it is time. A wing is drawn on skin that folds, stretches and settles: the angle that suits a lid at 28 is not the angle that suits it at 40, and unlike a pencil, a tattoo does not move with you. Winged shapes are also the most trend-bound thing on a face. On monolids and hooded lids there is a third problem: with the eye open, the fold swallows most of the tail, so the shape you paid for shows only when your eyes are shut.

The difference between the two is placement, not style: the $390 version on our semi-permanent makeup menu runs into the inner lash line, so it reads more visible while still being a lash line. What a session looks like
一次疗程的流程
Set aside about two hours. Almost half of that is preparation, and none of it involves a needle.
预留大约两个小时。差不多一半时间在准备，那段时间完全碰不到针。
- Consult and mapping.咨询和定位。 We look at your lid open and closed, because those are two different shapes. The line is marked in pencil on the closed lid and you check it in the mirror before anything else happens. 我们会看你眼睛张开和闭上的样子，因为那是两个不同的形状。要走的线用铅笔画在闭着的眼皮上，你照镜子确认过，才会有下一步。
- Numbing.麻醉。 Topical anaesthetic sits for around 20 minutes with the eye closed. A second application goes on partway through, once the skin surface is open enough to take it. 表面麻膏敷大约 20 分钟，全程闭眼。做到一半会再补一次，那时皮肤表层已经能吸收进去。
- Pigment.上色。 The lid is held taut and the pigment goes in over short passes, building density instead of one heavy stroke. Your eye stays closed the whole time. Roughly 45 minutes for both eyes. 把眼皮绷平，色素分很多小段慢慢叠上去，靠层数做出密度，不是一笔压重。全程你的眼睛都是闭着的。两只眼睛大约 45 分钟。
- The mirror.照镜子。 Fresh work always looks darker and thicker than the healed result. That is normal and it is worth hearing before you see it. 刚做完一定比愈合后深、也粗。这是正常的，看到之前先知道比较好。
Needles are single use and opened in front of you. Pigments should be HSA-permitted, and any studio should be able to tell you which line they use without hesitating.
针是一次性的，当着你的面拆封。色素应该是 HSA 批准的，任何一家店被问到用哪个牌子，都应该答得出来，不用想。
How much it hurts, honestly
到底有多痛，老实说
Eyelid skin is thin, which sounds like bad news and is the opposite: thin skin takes topical numbing well. Most clients describe a vibration with a scratchy edge, strongest at the outer corner. Very few describe it as sharp. On our own bench, brows are a faint scratch, lips are the sensitive one, and eyeliner sits between them, closer to brows. Between the two eyeliner depths, the one that takes pigment into the inner waterline is the more sensitive to sit through.
眼皮的皮肤薄，听起来像坏消息，其实相反：皮肤薄，表面麻膏反而吃得进去。多数客人形容是带点刮的震动感，眼尾那段最明显。说很尖锐的很少。以我们自己的经验排：眉毛像轻轻的刮痕，唇最敏感，眼线在中间，比较靠近眉毛那一头。两种眼线之间，走进内眼线那个做起来比较敏感。
The part nobody prepares for is not pain, it is water. The eye tears as a reflex whenever something works that close to the lash line, and it will do it whether or not you feel anything. Tears also thin the numbing cream, so we blot and re-numb through the session. Expect to walk out looking like you cried, and expect that to have nothing to do with how it felt.
大家最没有心理准备的不是痛，是水。只要有东西在睫毛根这么近的地方动，眼睛就会反射性泛泪，跟你痛不痛没关系。眼泪还会把麻膏冲淡，所以中间我们会一直吸干、再补麻。做完出来眼睛会像哭过，这件事跟感受完全是两回事。
Nothing starts until you say you are ready, and if you need the machine off for a minute, it goes off. That is not a favour, it is how the appointment is supposed to run.
你说可以了才会开始，中途需要停一分钟，机器就停。这不是通融，本来就该这样。
Healing on eyelid skin, day by day
眼皮的愈合，一天一天看
Eyelid skin is the thinnest on the face, so it swells easily and flakes fast. The upside is that the whole arc is short. The downside is that days four to seven look worse than most people expect, and that is when the panic messages arrive.
眼皮是脸上最薄的皮肤，所以容易肿，也脱屑得快。好处是整个过程短。坏处是第四到第七天会比多数人预期的难看，客人紧张的讯息通常就是那几天来的。
- Day 1:第 1 天： darker and thicker than the final result, with mild swelling that peaks the next morning. Sleep on your back. Cold compress over a clean tissue, not directly on the lid. 比最终效果深、也粗，轻微肿胀，隔天早上最明显。仰睡。冷敷要隔一层干净纸巾，不要直接压在眼皮上。
- Day 2 to 3:第 2 到 3 天： tightness, and very fine crusting sitting right along the lash roots. Tempting to pick it off with a fingernail. Do not. 紧绷，睫毛根部会有很细的痂。会很想用指甲抠掉。不要。
- Day 4 to 7:第 4 到 7 天： flaking. The line looks broken, patchy and uneven, and some flakes come away on the lashes. This is the stage that looks like a mistake and is not one. 脱屑期。线条看起来断断续续、深浅不一，有些屑会挂在睫毛上。这一段看起来像做坏了，其实不是。
- Week 2 to 3:第 2 到 3 周： the ghost stage. The line can look almost gone. Fresh skin has closed over the pigment and is masking it while it settles. 淡化期。线条可能看起来几乎没了。是新生皮肤盖在色素上面，暂时把它遮住了，色素还在下面稳定。
- Week 4 to 6:第 4 到 6 周： the true line surfaces. Judge the work here, not at week two. If a section healed lighter, this is the point to book the touch-up, which is free within three months of your session. 真实的线条浮出来。要在这时候评估，不是第二周。如果有一段愈合得比较淡，这时候才约补色，做完三个月内免费。
A note on what fades unevenly: the outer third almost always heals a touch lighter than the middle, because that is the section that gets rubbed when you take makeup off or wipe sweat away. It is the most common thing we even out at the touch-up.
关于哪里退得不均：眼尾那三分之一几乎一定比中段淡一点，因为卸妆、擦汗，手都是往那边抹。补色时最常修的就是这一段。
Aftercare that actually matters for an eyelid
眼皮真正需要的护理
Brow aftercare and eyeliner aftercare share most of their rules; the difference is that everything you normally do around your eyes has to stop. The general principles are in our eyebrow embroidery aftercare guide, and these are the eyelid specifics.
眉毛和眼线的护理大部分是一样的，差别在于你平常在眼睛周围做的事，全部要暂停。一般原则在我们的绣眉护理指南里，以下是眼皮专属的部分。
- 14 days, no eye makeup. No mascara, no pencil, no lash curler, no eye cream or serum on the lid. Mascara in particular is the one people forget, and mascara removal is exactly the rubbing we are trying to avoid.14 天不碰眼妆。不涂睫毛膏、不画眼线、不夹睫毛、眼皮上不擦眼霜和精华。睫毛膏是最多人忘记的一样，而卸睫毛膏那个动作，正好就是我们要避免的摩擦。
- Sleep on your back for three nights. A pillow pressed against a fresh lid moves pigment and adds swelling.头三个晚上仰睡。枕头压在刚做好的眼皮上，色素会移位，也会更肿。
- Keep it dry, and blot rather than rinse. Wash your face around the eye, not over it, for the first week.保持干燥，用按的不要冲。第一周洗脸绕开眼睛，不要从眼睛上面洗过去。
- No pools, sauna, steam room or hot yoga for 14 days. Chlorine and sweat both lift pigment out of skin that has not closed.14 天不游泳、不桑拿、不蒸气房、不做热瑜伽。氯和汗都会把色素从还没长好的皮肤里带走。
- Sunglasses outdoors. This is healing skin in Singapore sun, and UV is the fastest way to dull a fresh line.出门戴太阳眼镜。这是在新加坡的太阳底下愈合的皮肤，紫外线是让新线条变暗淡最快的方法。
- No lash serum for a month. Growth serums are the one product clients rarely mention, and several of them irritate healing lid skin.一个月内停用睫毛增长液。这是客人最少主动提起的一样东西，而其中不少会刺激正在愈合的眼皮。
Anything that looks like an infection rather than healing, spreading redness, heat, yellow discharge, or a lid that is still swelling on day three, is a doctor's call and not ours. Message us too, but see a doctor first.
如果看起来不像愈合而像发炎：红肿扩散、发热、有黄色分泌物，或者第三天还在继续肿，那是医生的事，不是我们的。也可以传讯息给我们，但先去看医生。
Who should skip it, and who should just wait

This is the section we would put first if search engines let us. Eyeliner is the semi-permanent service with the longest list of reasons not to book, mostly because of where it sits rather than what it is.

One more that no checkbox covers: if you are booking this hoping to stop wearing makeup entirely, temper that. A healed lash line means you can leave the house without doing your eyes and still look awake. It does not replace mascara on a wedding day.

How long it lasts
能维持多久
Eyeliner is the most durable of the three, typically 18 to 30 months. The reason is unglamorous: eyelid skin produces very little sebum, and sebum is what carries pigment out of skin. It is also the one semi-permanent service Singapore humidity barely touches.
眼线是三个里面最耐的，一般 18 到 30 个月。原因很不浪漫：眼皮几乎不出油，而油脂正是把色素带出皮肤的东西。这也让它成为新加坡湿气几乎影响不到的一个项目。
Placed well, it thins evenly rather than breaking into patches, so the end of its life looks like slightly sparser lashes rather than a damaged line. Oily lids sit at the shorter end. Heavy eye-makeup habits and daily lash curling shorten it too, because both are friction on the same strip of skin.
位置放得对的话，它是整条均匀变淡，不会一块一块断掉，所以到后期看起来像睫毛稍微稀了一点，而不是一条坏掉的线。眼皮出油的人落在时间范围的短端。天天化浓眼妆、天天夹睫毛也会缩短，因为那都是在同一条皮肤上反复摩擦。
Which of the two depths to book
两种深度，该选哪一个
Our menu frames it as two depths to choose from depending on how visible you want it, and that really is the whole decision. The $290 line works along the outside of the lash base. It is the understated one, and on most faces it reads as fuller lashes rather than as anything applied. The $390 version takes pigment into the inner waterline as well, closing the pale strip between your lashes and your eye. With the eye open that reads darker and more clearly drawn.
菜单上的说法是：可选两种位置，看你想要多明显。要决定的其实就只有这一件事。$290 那条走在睫毛根外侧，是低调的那一种，多数人脸上看起来是睫毛变密，不像有做过什么。$390 那个会连内眼线一起做，把睫毛和眼球之间那条浅色的缝补起来。张开眼睛看会更深、轮廓更清楚。
Two things to weigh before you take the deeper one. The inner waterline is the more sensitive of the two to sit through, and it is the placement that makes the eye water most. It also commits you to a more noticeable result for the next eighteen months or more: a line you like at week six is a line you will wear to work every day. If you are undecided, start at $290. Going deeper later is easy. Coming back from deeper is not.
