Walk past any row of beauty studios in Singapore and the same word appears on every signboard: embroidery. Brow embroidery, Korean embroidery, 6D embroidery. It sounds like one treatment. It isn't. The word is an umbrella covering at least four different techniques, and the one behind the counter decides how your brows look at month twelve, not just on day one.
走过新加坡任何一排美容店，招牌上都是同一个词：绣眉。韩式绣眉、6D 绣眉。听起来像一种项目，其实不是。这个词底下至少藏着四种不同技术，而店里实际用的那一种，决定的是你眉毛第 12 个月的样子，不只是第一天。
Why every studio calls it "embroidery"
为什么每家店都叫「绣眉」？
The name is a leftover. Early semi-permanent brow work in Asia used a hand tool that stitched pigment into skin in fine passes, a little like needlework, so "embroidery" stuck. The tools have moved on; the label never did. Today a studio advertising eyebrow embroidery might be hand-blading strokes, machine-shading pigment, or doing both in one sitting. None of this naming is regulated. The only reliable question to ask is: what tool touches my skin?

Fresh photos all look sharp. Healed results are where the four split apart. Bladed strokes soften and can blur into shadow on oily skin. Powder shading fades gradually and evenly. Nano strokes hold their lines longer than bladed ones because the skin trauma is shallower. Pain, numbing, and how the session runs
痛感、麻醉、流程
Done properly, this is not a painful treatment. At yeux we apply topical anaesthetic and let it work for about 20 minutes before anything else happens. Most clients report a faint scratch or a light vibration, and a few fall asleep. Before any pigment goes in, the shape is drawn in pencil and you approve it in the mirror. Nothing starts until you say yes. The pigmentation itself takes roughly an hour.

One treatment, two sessions

Whichever technique you pick, plan for two visits. Skin absorbs some pigment while it heals, and it absorbs unevenly, so almost everyone has a patch or two that healed lighter. The second session balances those areas and locks in the final shape. At yeux the touch-up is free within three months of your session; most clients come back around week six, once the colour has fully settled.

Healing, day by day
修复期，一天一天看
- Day 1 to 3:第 1 到 3 天： brows look about 30% darker than the final result. Normal. Blot, don't rinse. 眉毛比最终效果深大约 30%。正常。轻按就好，不要冲水。
- Day 4 to 7:第 4 到 7 天： light flaking begins. No picking, no scratching, no saunas or pools. 开始轻微脱屑。不抠、不抓、不桑拿、不泡池。
- Day 7 to 14:第 7 到 14 天： the ghost stage. Pigment looks up to 30% lighter and patchy. Don't panic, and don't book a fix yet. 淡化期。色素看起来淡了 30%，还可能斑驳。别慌，也先别约补色。
- Week 4 to 6:第 4 到 6 周： the true colour surfaces. This is when the touch-up makes sense. 真实颜色浮现。这时候补色才有意义。

In Singapore's humidity: powder brow typically holds 18 to 24 months, microblading 12 to 18, and nano strokes sit between the two. Oily skin shortens every one of those numbers, because sebum migrates pigment. Sun and exfoliating acids shorten them further. Fade is not failure; it's how semi-permanent pigment is designed to behave, and it's what lets your brow shape evolve with trends instead of being locked in.

- Oily or combination skin:油性或混合性肌肤： powder brow. Shading tolerates sebum; fine strokes don't. 粉雾眉。雾感撑得住油脂，细线条撑不住。
- Dry skin, want maximum realism:干性肌肤、要最自然： nano or bladed strokes hold their crispness. 纳米或刀片线条能保持清晰。
- Want a soft makeup finish:想要淡妆感： powder brow reads as filled-in from day one. 粉雾眉从第一天就像画好的眉。

Red flags when choosing a studio
选店时的警讯
- One price, no questions about your skin. Skin type should change the recommendation.
- 一个价钱，不问你的肤质。肤质不同，推荐本来就该不同。
- A portfolio of day-one photos only. Ask to see healed work at month three or later.
- 作品集只有刚做完的照片。要求看三个月后的愈合效果。
- No pencil draw and mirror confirmation before pigment. You should approve the shape first, every time.
- 上色前不画眉形、不给你照镜确认。每一次都应该先经过你同意。
- Vague answers about needles and pigments. Needles should be single-use; pigments should be HSA-permitted.
- 对针和色素含糊其辞。针应该是一次性的，色素应该是 HSA 批准的。
- Pressure to go darker "so it lasts longer." Over-pigmenting at session one is how brows turn grey or orange later.
- 劝你打深一点「比较持久」。第一次上太厚，就是日后眉毛变灰变橘的原因。
