If you're booking your first semi-permanent brow appointment in Singapore, you'll be asked to choose between three techniques: microblading雾眉, powder brow粉雾眉, or combo brow组合眉. Most studios let you choose without telling you which actually suits your skin. Here's the honest version.

If you only read this far: powder brow is the safer default in Singapore's humidity. Most of our clients land on either powder or combo. Pure microblading suits maybe one in four Singapore skin types.

What is microblading?
什么是雾眉？
Microblading uses a fine bladed tool to make hair-stroke shaped cuts in the upper layer of the skin, then deposits pigment into those cuts. The result reads as individual brow hairs — extremely natural at the right viewing distance.
雾眉用细刀片在皮肤表层划出毛发形状的切口，再把色素送进去。效果看起来像一根一根眉毛 — 适当距离看非常自然。
Microblading is brilliant on dry to normal skin types because the cuts heal cleanly, the pigment stays where it's placed, and the hair strokes maintain their shape over time.
雾眉在干性到中性肤质上很棒：切口愈合干净、色素留在原位、毛发线条会保持形状。
It's much less suited to oily skin because excess sebum migrates pigment, blurring the crisp strokes within months. By month 12 in Singapore humidity on oily skin, microblading often looks like a soft smudge rather than defined hairs.

What is powder brow?
什么是粉雾眉？
Powder brow (also called ombre brow or shaded brow) uses a digital tattoo machine with a fine needle to deposit pigment in a soft, pixelated, dot-shaded pattern. The effect is similar to a softly filled-in brow with brow pencil or powder.
粉雾眉（也叫渐变眉或雾感眉）用电动机器和细针，把色素打成柔和的粉点状阴影。效果像用眉笔或眉粉轻轻填过的眉毛。
Because there are no defined "lines" to blur, powder brow tolerates Singapore humidity much better. It also tolerates oily skin, sebaceous activity around the brow ridge, and mild sun exposure. The fade is gradual and even, rather than patchy.
因为没有清晰「线条」会糊掉，粉雾眉在新加坡湿气下表现好很多。也能撑住油性肌肤、眉骨油脂分泌、轻度日晒。退色是渐进均匀的，不会斑驳。
Powder brow heals faster than microblading (less skin trauma) and is the technique we recommend by default for Singapore clients unless they've specifically requested a hair-stroke look.

The Singapore humidity factor
新加坡湿气的影响
Here's what most studios don't tell you. Singapore is the worst-case climate for microblading retention because:

- Higher sebum production油脂分泌更多 — humidity stimulates the skin to produce more oil, which migrates pigment.
- Daily sweat exposure每天出汗 — outdoor commutes, hawker lunches, MRT-to-aircon cycles. Even minor sweat at the brow ridge degrades fine pigment lines.
- Sun exposure日晒 — UV is brutal year-round and accelerates pigment fade across all techniques, but more so for the fine strokes of microblading.
The result: in cooler climates, microblading can hold for 18 to 24 months. In Singapore on oily skin, it often blurs into a soft shadow by month 10. On dry skin, you may still get the full 18 months.

The healing journey, week by week

Day 1 to 3: dark and bold

Brows look ~30% darker and more defined than the final result. The pigment is sitting on top of the skin and in the upper layers. This is normal.这是正常的。 Don't panic.
Day 4 to 7: light flaking

Tiny flakes of dry pigment will start lifting off. Don't pick. Don't scratch. Apply the supplied aftercare balm with a clean cotton bud, twice daily.

Day 7 to 14: the "ghost stage"

Pigment can look up to 30% lighter. Some areas may look patchy or uneven. This is the body reabsorbing surface pigment while the deeper layer settles. Do not book a touch-up yet.先别预约补色。 Trust the process.
Week 4 to 6: the real result emerges

Pigment finishes settling. The brows now reflect the long-term colour and crispness.

This is when we balance any uneven areas, deepen pigment where the body absorbed too much, and finalise the shape. Every brow appointment at yeux includes this touch-up in the original price.

If you can't decide — get the combo. Hair strokes at the head of the brow (where strokes look most natural), soft powder shading through the arch and tail. It's our most-booked treatment for clients in their late 20s and 30s.

The combo gives you the makeup-finish look of powder brow with the hair-detail of microblading at the front. It also ages more gracefully than either alone — when the strokes do soften over time, the powder underneath holds the shape.
