Embroidery is the opposite job: pigment into the skin, so shape and colour appear where hair does not. What threading actually does
线修眉到底在做什么
The technician holds a loop of cotton thread, twists it into a moving X, and rolls it along your brow line. Each twist catches a row of hairs and pulls them out at the root, which is why the edge looks so clean. No wax, no chemicals, ten minutes at a mall stall. It also stings sharply, with no numbing to soften it.
技师把一圈棉线绞成会转动的 X 形，沿着眉线滚过去。每转一圈夹住一排毛、连根拔起，所以边缘才会那么干净。不用蜡、不用药水，商场小摊十分钟就做完两边。缺点是很刺痛，而且没有麻醉可以缓冲。
Threading cannot add. It has no colour, and it only works on hair that is already there. A tail that stopped growing years ago stays empty however neatly the strays around it come off.
线修眉不会「加」。它没有颜色，也只能处理已经长出来的毛。多年前就不再长毛的眉尾，周围杂毛修得再干净，那块还是空的。

- Thick brows, plenty of strays:眉毛浓密、杂毛多： threading. The shape is there; the edges need cleaning. 线修眉。眉形本来就有，边缘清干净就好。
- Sparse tails, gaps, over-plucked arches:眉尾稀疏、有空隙、眉峰拔过头： embroidery. Removing hair cannot fill a space. 绣眉。再拔毛也填不了空的地方。
- You draw your brows on daily:每天都要画眉： embroidery. That is the chore it removes. 绣眉。它取代的就是这件事。

A pattern shows up often enough that I now ask about it during consultation. Clients who have threaded every three weeks for years arrive with a tail that has quietly thinned, because the same borderline hairs get caught in the twist every visit and eventually stop coming back. They rarely want the whole brow redrawn. They want the last third rebuilt so the rest stops looking short. That is one session.

Yes, and most of my brow clients do. The pigment sets the shape; threading keeps the strays outside it tidy. The rule is timing: nothing near the brow until it has fully healed, meaning after your free touch-up and the 4 to 6 week colour settle.
